I may travel the world, but I still need a place to lay my head.

I've been trying to switch gears over the past year from the crazy college life to a state of semi-permanence. I have moved eleven times in the past twenty-two years, and I never really quite feel settled. I have problems hanging stuff on the walls and emptying all the boxes, because I know I'm going to have to pack it all up again in a few months.

My new house has been such a blessing for me, because even though I am once again moving, it is such a homely place, and I have been able to feel grounded there. There are pictures on all my walls and I even used nails instead of sticky tac! But with my upcoming marriage, I'm really looking forward to some stability in the area of house-ish stuff (although with my love's deployment it may still be a little while). But it's there on the horizon and something to welcome eventually.

So needless to say, I'm a little obsessed right now with home things, appliances specifically. I just found the most amazing line of new-but-vintage-looking refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers etc. that come in like every color (Big Chill). My favorite is the ridiculously unaffordable cream fridge...Hello, beautiful.
