How to describe Gracie's style....

She's sporty and loves to be comfy, but pulls it off in such a cool "I-don't-care" way, and when she does have an occasion to dress up, you better watch out, because she can totally bring the heat.

She loves to be her own person. When people start flocking to the stores to purchase the latest trend, she meticulously goes through her closet to make sure she isn't  wearing it. She buys outrageous thrift-store pieces just to make sure no one can copy.

To top it off, she has a total teenager attitude problem (endearing as it is) that actually enhances her style by infiltrating it with cool, snobby, rockstar vibes.

She's amazing.

Here's a little project I finally got around to finishing. I found these vintage film reels at a garage sale in a "free" box. Today I discovered that there was still some film around the biggest one, so instead of using ribbon like I originally planned, I used film to hold the pictures in place. The pictures came from a sweet old lady's scrap book that I purchased at an estate sale.

Since I got this new job and can actually wear all the clothes I own to work, I've realized I have way more clothes than I thought...I may or may not have completely avoided repeating outfits for the past two and a half months.

So, lately, my shopping list has shifted to furnishing/enhancing my beautiful new house. I was on a mission this week to find some rugs for my kitchen and bedroom. The search didn't last very long when I decided to try Urban Outfitters first and never left their website. First of all, who knew they had an entire section of their website dedicated to "apartment"? Surprise!

They have a huge selection of rugs that you could literally frame and hang on a wall. They're that cute and, I might add, extremely affordable.

Something to Splurge On

My parents gave me some birthday money this week and told me that I HAD to buy an actual present with it, something I would never just buy for myself regularly. It took me about two seconds to decide what I wanted.

The Urban Decay Naked 2 eye shadow palette has twelve of the most amazing wear-every-day colors and comes with a fancy two-sided brush for application. By far the most useful set of cosmetics you will ever purchase.

After using the eye shadow for a couple of days, I'm not entirely sure it should count as something I would never buy for myself. Going into this purchase I would have never spent $50 on eye shadow under regular circumstances, but now I can confidently say that I would and it would be worth every penny. It's AMAZING!

i LOVE love.

I am in the precious phase of life where everyone I know is getting married. So far it's my favorite. I adore weddings and all that goes along with them, the flowers, the dresses, the lights (the cake, mmm...). It's just such an amazing thing to witness two people falling in love and committing their lives to each other.

So, I'm always on the hunt for fun, unique wedding presents. I choose to leave the gift registries to those who are older and wiser than me (and have the money to spend on a Keurig, KitchenAid mixer, or 4-person Fiesta dishware set from Bed, Bath, and Beyond).

These pillow covers from the Acorn Street Boutique (which are hand-made [WHAT?] by my amazing co-worker, Allie, and perfectly priced around $20-30) are exactly the kind of thing I look for. Elegant, one-of-a-kind, chic-ness that your married friends can display on their new couch in their new living room with their new decorations and wedding pictures galore!
