What Goes around Comes around

I recently, as in two days ago, developed this crazy obsession for moccasin boots. I woke up Monday and said, "I HAVE to have those shoes." It may have had something to do with the fact that they all of a sudden sold out of every major online retailer. What can I say? People want what they can't have. Any pair that wasn't sold out was going to ring up to about $100. I even looked on Ebay, and the cheapest pair I could find were still going to be $71. OUCH!

So, I settled in to my desk chair for a night of online searching, only to come up with (after two hours, mind you) the same pair of $71 boots. I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much on something with fringe, so I resigned myself to outlast the craving for those boots on my feet until the trend passed me by, and moving on with my life, I finally went to sleep.

BUT, on my way home for Christmas vacation yesterday, I just happened to pass by Kohl's, and remembering a certain sold-out, half-off pair of moccasin boots I'd seen online the night before, I thought I'd just slip in really quick and check if they had my size. The place was a madhouse! Apparently department stores get pretty swamped the week before Christmas. (Who knew?)

I found exactly one pair of moccasin boots in a half size too small, but don't you worry, I crammed my little feet in there like one of Cinderella's step sisters, and once they were on, they really fit quite nicely. Ahhhh success. I'd also like to throw in there that with my knowledge of the online prices and applying for a Kohl's card, I got the boots for a fraction of what I found them for online. Originally $99, I got them for $36! CHA-CHING! My mom says she can remember her mom wearing the same style when she was a kid in the seventy's. I'm going to wear them til the 2070s. :D

Best Christmas Present EVER.

So, I recently received my first Christmas present of the year, and OH MY GOODNESS it was amazing!! Such a good idea for literally any girl on your list.

After work the other day my really good friend and co-worker, Abi, was like, "Oh my goodness I got your present, and I can't even wait til Christmas, can you just come to my house and let me give it to you now?!?!?!" So, naturally I was like "Heck ya!!" (I love presents more than almost anything else in the world.)

We got to her house and she handed me a little bag with a pair of beeeeeeeeautiful real leather gloves inside! :))))) AND THEY WERE PINK!! I screamed a stream of unintelligible excited words and jumped up and down for a good five minutes before trying them on. They fit perfect. :)

Needless to say, I am definitely going to be stealing this idea! I probably won't be getting the same reaction out of my gift givees (because I'm a little high strung, I'll admit) but who doesn't want a classy pair of gloves for the winter? Everyone has hands, everyone gets cold, everyone wants to look like they have it all together...leather gloves.
